The ketogenic diet has been promoted by the scientific community, in particular, as an effective means to treat type II diabetes, obesity, and even cancer. However, as this blog will argue, this diet is not the best way to achieve a healthy weight for a person that is already lean and healthy. The ketogenic diet is not healthy. Then I will explore the possible mechanisms behind why the ketogenic diet has such a negative effect on the body and ultimately, why this diet is the cause of the obesity epidemic that we are seeing in the world today.
